 Bang! Bang! A knock at the door. ‘Fried Chicken. No. Yes. Roasted Thighs of a turkey’ Bang! Bang! Bang! Intense knocking at the door continues. I was instantly woken up from my trance. Oh no. Not that dream of me eating in luxury again. Whoever was behind the door temporaryly became my enemy for waking me up from eating the best ‘Dreams can offer’. I quickly turned to the sleeping Emma besides me. Glad i didnt eat his head this time.

Bang! Bang! Bang.
‘Na who me that?’ I yawned,standing up from the bed as i stretched my hands in reckless abandon.
‘Na me’ ‘You no get name?’
‘Open this door jare before hunger kill me for here’.

Only one person could knock at my door so early in the morning. I guessed right as i opened the door to meet my neighbour, Theophilus. ‘Guy abeg una get chinkini garri for here wey person fit take hold belle?’ Theophilus ignorantly asked immediately he stepped into the room. Theophilus was my neighbour. Handsome, Full of life and fun to be with. He was always referred to as a brainbox. While you’re busy thinking and straining your brain in level 1, Theo as i fondly call him is already in level 200. ‘You dey craze abi? Or one nut for your head loose this morning?’ I sarcastically him. ‘You don start abi? Na hunger go kill una’ He said,pointing to me and the sleeping Emma. I was begining to wonder if what he said behind the door some minutes ago was actually true. ‘Simple question wey i ask you,you come begin dey insult me,common garri you no get,make i go eat my fried rice and chicken for my room jare’ He Added as he made to leave.

Oh no no no. Not Fried rice and Chicken. ‘Ehn go chop am na,call me to wake you up from the dream when you’re done eating’ I replied as i began laughing hard. He immediately turned to me,this time with seriousness written on his face. ‘Guy abeg,even if na small leftover bread,I go manage am abeg’ I looked at him with pity not wanting to burst out with a series of laughter. ‘To God!’ I said, doing the finger to to mouth to sky ritual. ‘No single permer of food dey this house at all’ He immediately collapsed on the floor, Oh no. Certainly he wasnt thinking i would rush to revive him. Did he?. I sat quietly watching him feign death, he must be stupid to think i’ll rush to him with a plate of ‘Fried rice and Chicken’. When he noticed i wasnt forthcoming,he stood up,planting a gaze at me. ‘Guy you wicked o. Even bread,you no fit offer your man’ He said. I laughed out loud. ‘If i even get the bread, E for don enter my belle since tey tey’. Theo’s face brightened with glee. ‘Guy stand up dress make we go chop’ ‘You get money?’ I countered. ‘Go dress shaperly shaperly,no dey dull my spirit’ He responded

‘Theo Theo T’0 T’0′ I hailed him while i went to get dressed.
Whatever he has in mind to do,he always achieves it or finds a
way to twist and turn things around to his favor.
Turning my back away from Theo, I was suprised to see Emma
already Up and dressed.
“Hunger no get enemy” I thought to myself as i hurriedly put on
my trouser.
Oops,something dangling between my legs. Forgot to zip up my fly.
You. Yes You reading. Hope you didnt see anything? Good child.
‘Wait for me!’ I yelled as i rushed to go meet Emma and Theo who were already quite some distance from me.

You are very stupid o. I asked for assorted continental fried rice,spiced wings of an elephant, flavoured liver of a lion but see what you are giving me’ I ranted at the Hotel manager. ‘We are very sorry sir,this is all we can offer’ The Manager replied with his head bowed in respect. ‘What nonsense!’ I Continued. ‘Let me see that Menu again’ I ordered while the Hotel manager with his head fully bowed stretched forth his hands and handed me the menu. ‘And I thought this was a 5-Star Hotel’ I continued babbling. ‘Let me just manage this,and this,and that,no, this and that’ I croaked, pointing to various items on the food menu while the Manager continued nodding his head like an agama lizard. ‘I’ll be back shortly Sir’ He announced and took his leave.

I felt bossily hearing the old man ascribe Sir to me. But the state of hunger i was in didnt let it get fully into my brain. Ooo ooh. Where on earth is this man and my food. With the type of hunger ‘hungrying’ me now,i can swallow ten ohrobo’s and still feel not satisfied. ‘Here we are Sir, Fried rice,Chicken and Hennessy’ the waiter said as he served the food to me while the manager stood afar. ‘What took you guys so long,you nearly killed a brother here’ I hissed.


In no time i had gulped down seven plates of fried rice,five full
spiced chickens and three bottles of hennessy but still wanted more.
I have the money!

‘Waiter,More please’ I shouted from my seat.
‘Sorry sir,you have finished our pot of rice and chicken,there is
nothing more to serve sir’
Shoooo! This guy dey craze walahi.
‘Okay whatelse do you have’ I asked calmly,trying hard not to
explode my anger on him.
‘Only coconuts sir’
‘Okay just bring it,i will manage’
‘Okay sir’. ‘Here it is sir’ The waiter said serving one very big
coconut that looked like my headmaster’s head.
I plunged into it,with full force,not minding the shell as i wanted
to have a good taste of it…
I took the coconut with my hands and with my teeth i bit the shell
very hard!..
‘Jessssssssusssss! Val don kill me o’ Emma shouted waking me up
from my dream with a thunderous slap on my cheek.

‘You begin to dey eat your pillow,I no talk. You carry my pillow
begin dey chop,I no talk. Now na my head you wan chop abi?
God punish you’ Emma burst out.
I sat on the bed totally speechless. Words failed me as i was yet
to comprehend what Emma was saying.
Oh now i get. I remembered eating fried rice and chicken in my
dreams so what the hell is he saying about me eating pillow and
heads?

I felt the rumbling of my stomach which signified that i hadnt
eaten anything for the last 48 hours.
‘Guy,abeg Day never break?’ I asked Emma who gave me a
quimzzical look and started laughing out loud.
He continued his infectious laughter rolling on the floor which
greatly infuriated me,then i thought about giving him back his own
coin.
I stood up from the bed and went closer to him,tapped him on his
shoulder and the moment he turned around,i landed a sounding
slap on his cheek.
Emma grabbed me by my singlet as he made to start a fight and i
was so in the mood to give him one.
Striking a pose with our fists both clenched and ready to strike a
punch as we faced each other.

One would think a fight was about to ensue but then,we both
started laughing hard as we fell on the bed.
From laughing very hard,our tone of laughter had changed to
cries.

‘Val, I swear, I fit die of hunger here o,I no even get strength
to fight at all’
‘Emma,if I tell say I dey hungry na lie i talk. If anything pass
hunger na that one i dey now’
‘Chai Valentine,so person just come campus to come die abi?
Which kind life be dis na’
‘See make we just dey pray say make tomorrow reach and we
never die of hunger’
‘As i dey talk so,if I open mouth talk,I go just fall die,make I
reserve the talking strength for tomorrow abeg’ Emma concluded as
he resigned to the bed.
My fights with my roommate Emma was not a new thing. We
fought on almost any thing and fortunately we understood each
other clearly and understood our differences.
‘Make morning do fast reach abeg before son of man go die of
hunger here o’ I thought.
I picked up my wallet besides me opening it only to see it as dry
as the sahara.
I shrugged that off.
‘Tomorrows gonna be a great day’ i thought while i fell fast asleep.
Who knows what the morning holds in store for us.

Sometimes,life takes us places we never thought we could be and makes us realise some mistakes we made but shouldn’t have in the first place. On my way to meet charles,I was involved in a car accident. The driver of the taxi lost control of the sterring whEel,the next thing I realised was that the car started swirling about 360 degrees,this happened in four consecutive sessions. I had never felt so close to dying,I really thought I was going to die,I covered both ears with my left and right hand and shut my eyes tightly,images of the people I love began to flash;my mum,my dad,my siblings and my superman-Femi…
Shortly after the vigorous spin and the continous shouting of “JESUS” by myself and the rest members of the vehicle,I opened my eyes and looked upwrds thankfully for the gift of life.I took it upon myself that I had just been given a second chance to make things right.I knew it was a miracle(how else would you explain coming out of a vehicle with FOUR deflated tyres,without even a SCRATCH??).

The whole experience was really traumatic for me,I couldn’t tell Femi though we talked,but I told charles. After telling him what happened,Charles was willing to love me with his life,but then I realised that I couldn’t even pretend to love him. Femi was the one and only guy I’ve ever loved.I coulndt stand charles’ presence around me,he was a really cute guy with a big heart but I just couldn’t do it. I felt really bad but two days after,I came clean with him and told him I only wanted to use him.I apologized to him and he forgave me.

Finally,the holidays were over and we were back to school.Femi and I got back together and I told him about my previous plans to make him jealous and he simply smiled and with that soft charming voice(the type I was a sucker for),he said “what’s meant to be will be, and that’s what we are;MEANT TO BE. I’ll always love you” After this,I said “I’ll always love you too” and we kissed,there and then on the road (though it was late in the evening)…while strolling down with him,I realised how much I loved him,so much that somtimes it scares me.

I was so confused,angry and happy all at the same time.I wanted to hang up,but then I thought it would too immature..I decided to reply immediately,I really wanted to say yes,but then a thought creeped into my head. “I will make him pay,if he’s truly sorry he should be ready to fight for me,I have to make him earn my love so he would learn to value me more(in other words,I wanted to teach his sorry Buttocks a lesson).so I said “am sorry dear,I already have someonelse am in love with,and we just started dating two days ago,if only you had called earlier..

I didn’t let him finish,I hung up. I started wondering,what did I just do sef?eh? Maybe there is really no need for him to fight, No! I replied to myself…at least I have to play hard-to-get for sometime.
I knew fully well that I was still in love with him,but I just had to put him at a tight corner,the only thing I needed now was a real “fake” boyfriend to instigate the fight. Hmmnn who will I use now,I’ve been really mean to most guys lately. Tomorow,I’ll check my contact list and hatch my plan.I smiled to myself,everything was going to be perfect.

Hello charles,its Prisca,I just wanted to apologise for the way I treated you that day…look I’m really sorry. If there is a way I can make it up to you,feel free to call me back and let me know…talk to you later,bye.

I smiled satisfactorily, Charles was really in love with me,there couldn’t have been a better person to use,I didn’t even let him say anything on the phone.I knew he was going to call me back..

Exams were fast approaching and I had a lot to make uo fro because fo my silly mistakes…I became a regular visitor to the library,I didn’t want to take any chances at failure,I knew my parents would be so angry if I failed.

 With a wall constructed in my herat and my focus strictly on my academics,I became a shadow of myself,no friends,no hanging out,no form of socialisation,I became like a triangular student-me,my school,and church and occasionaly the market(forget o,man must whack heartbreak or not).I was able to cover up my academic lapses(I think it was divine intervention) and even had onw wEek extra to just relax my brain.I had become an anti-male,I didn’t want to see any guy close to me,this was a little bit difficult(dnt mean to brag but,I’m not exactly the kind of girl that most guys would see and pass by) I had this innocent looking babyface,that made a lot of guys think they could easily take advantage of me… hmmn,those guys got it really tough from me,I became rude and unfriendly to all guys,I even became scared at a point of how I had become just because of one heart break.

The semester exams were soon over,and it was time for holidays. I was just chilling at the pool one sunday afternoon when I heard a husky voice from behind. Prisi!… prisi dear how have you been? Femi asked in a seemingly concerned manner. i hissed and said,I’ve been just the way you left me to be,and i don’t think that is your concern in anyway i got up from where i was sitting and walked away. prisi!please hold on,okay…i was defiant and i picked up my clothes flagged down a cab,and left. on my way home,different thoughts were going through my mind,maybe i should have just listened to him,idiot! i don’t think he would have said anything relevant,if he wanted to,he could have called a long time ago,or did he not know my number.I was brought back by the sound of the taxi drivers loud horn.Driver, wetin sef? you wan block pesin ear,shoo?i said with annoyance in my voice.come,no b me make you vex o,if you know wetin dey vex you beta maintain yoursef o, the driver replied. I no blame you,na because say you see me for you useless taxi na,nonsense,i hissed. When i got home,i couldn’t help but curse myself for refusing to hear him out,a part of me still wanted him badly,i kept rewinding his voice in my head..so soft,i wondered how i was able to ignore it for the first time. should i call him? hell no! who does he think he is? if he really had anything important to tell me,he would have called. “somebody saaaaavee me”…my phone was ringing, i knew my superman was calling…that was his ringing tone. “hello?”

I was so angry,I wanted to approach them,but something inside me told me to ignore them since they hadn’t seen me. After minutes of struggling within myself I decided to go and confront Femi,especially when I saw how they were laughing and holdIng hands,I didn’t notice any real intimacy between them,but I just didn’t like the fact that another girl was hanging around my boyfriend at our most special place,barely a month after our break up.am I that easy to forget?I asked myself as I took a close examination at the girl,she’s not even half as pretty as I am, Femi doesn’t like to hang around people(especially girls)that aren’t good looking. She was putting on designer wear all over,her shoes,her hand bag,her jean and her top looked classic. She looked “expensive” . Could that be why Femi was with her,but femi had no reason to be a gold digger,his dad was a big time offshore worker in an oil company,and his mom was a banker,I thought to myself.

I was jolted out of my thought by the sound of Femi’s voice,I didn’t know when I had walked up to where Femi was,I was too busy thinking. Hi,femi said in a playful voice,he seemed to be in a really good mood. Hi I replied with a sarcastic tone in my voice,while eyeing the girl at his side. Meet mY cousin amy, before I could introduce myself, Amy jumped in and said wow! You must be prisi,his best friend,he’s said a lot about you already. What???!!!I exclaimed within myself,so Femi couldn’t even teLl his so-called cousin about us,he had to lie to her(reducing me to best friend level was so low of him,how could he?).how was I sure he wasn’t even lying about her being his cousin. Do you mind joining us? Amy asked, I saw a look on Femi’s face that implied that he didn’t want me there,but I ignored that look,feigned a smile and said : no,I would love to.

I joined them despite the fact that I was having a lecture, and we started talking… I enjoyed the conversation,but one thing that struck me was the fact that Femi never mentioned anything about us during the entire conversation,even when we talked about relationships,I didn’t have much to say because I just broke up with my first real boyfriend and I was expecting him to talk more on it. He just skipped anything about us,he talked more about his ex-girlfriends much to my anger.I had to pretend I didn’t feel any anger because of Amy,she seemed so ignorant of any strife between I and Femi. I was lost in thought only to be brought back by Femi’s soft voice”prisi… erm,there’s something I wanted to tell you prisi(I felt some sweetness in my belly,his voice was damn cute,especially when he was trying to be soft)” yes I said casually with a warm smile. Well, I was planning to come see you at your hostel,but since you’re already here,lemme just say it…I’ve found a girl that I love and loves and can RESPECT me(he made special emphasis on the word respect).Amy put on a great smile,wow bro,am happy for you..she hugged him and encouraged me to do the same. She didn’t even notice how shocked I looked,my eyes were teary as a result of what my ears had just heard and what my heart was still hurting over. Come on girl,give him a hug that’s good news…he’s your best friend isn’t he?awwww! dnt tell me you’re jealous, Amy taunted(for a girl looking so rich,she seemed nice enough). It was going to be the last hug ever,so I made the best of it,buy holding him tighter than ever(at that moment,I relinquished all the pain in my heart),I almost cried(I still dnt know what force in the universe held back those tears),I freed myself from his embrace and that was it. My eyes were too red to remain unoticed by Amy,why do you wanna cry she asked…nothing dear,I’m just so happy he’s found love again,they’re actually tears of joy.

Femi couldn’t look into my eyes,I bade Amy goodbye and turned to leave,prisi! I heard Femi’s shaky voice,please don’t leave me(I felt like getting a Knife and stabbing him to death,all my love had turned into hatred in that split second….is he crazy? What does he want from me?).I hope you’re happy, I turned to look at him with tears running down my eyes,and I ran away from there,I heard Amy calling out,I didn’t respond I just didn’t want to see him again..ever

I left that place wondering and pondering on how foolishly I had just reacted,how can I miss an important lecture and possible test just because of a guy that didn’t seem to care,he’s not worth it joor,I sighed…something has to be done about this,and really fast,am beginning to lose it.

I knew I needed to re-organise my priorities,my academics had suffered a lot because of one stupid love affair…I made up my mind not to ever love again. Damn guys! I hate them,they’re just selfish idiots.

“Well I want to apologise for ignoring you all these while,I’ve just been trying to sort myself out and recover from the way you treated me,I’ve not been able to…I dnt think I can continue with this anymore,I love you,I really do but I can’t take another episode of that kind of nonsense which you displayed the other day, you dnt owe me any explanation or apologies I think its best we stay apart at least for now,this was a hard decision to make..bbutt… Just know that I still love you” femi said.


I couldn’t believe what I had just heard,I wish h he had never called at least that way I could keep hope alive,how could he be so harsh,because of something as little as that(I call it little because I have heard about worse in relationships) he was really acting like the egocentric idiots(some guys are)…how can you quit a relationship with someone you love because of somthing like this. I was greatly disappointed and haert-broken..

Two weeks had past since Femi’s break-up call,I had lost weight due to thinking and not eating,I had become a shadow of myself…all my friends had told me to get over Femi,they had tried hooking me up with some guys just to help me get over him,but it wsnt successful. If femi,had told me he didn’t love me anymore,it would have been easier for me to move on,but this wasn’t the case,he really emphasised on the statement “I love you” before hanging up.why did he have to put me in a state of emotional imprisonment..it was hard for me to forget him and start another relationship,after two years of loving the love of my life.

During my period of emotional heart-break,I couldn’t concentrate well on my academic work(it was that bad),my roomate wanted to call my mum,but I pleaded with her not to,because I knew my mum was gonna march down to my school,if she found out I was involved with a boy in anyway-to her,I was too young to have anything to do with any boy, and she had the mentality that every boy-girl relationship involved s*x. After much pep talks a nd advice sessions from my roomate(garnished with threats to call my mum),I decided to get back on my feet and ignore anything that had to do with boys(at least for the rest of the semester).
I was still recovering from my distress when I met another shocker, I saw femi at “OUR” favorite chat spot with another girl

The Chained Slave Of Kotanga Part 2 – Story

Too late! Lord Stark caught up with her almost immediately and pushed her to the ground, she looked up at him and the glint in his eyes informed her of his unkind intention. She let out a scream.

 Zimra who was almost home, heard the scream, recognised the voice and ran back. What he met made him so angry. He grabbed a bamboo stick lying nearby and hit Lord Stark so hard, blood gushed out of his nose immediately.

 Lord Stark staggered away promising to deal mercilessly with Zimra come morning. Fear came upon Ani as she heard those words, she was thankful that Zimra had rescued her but the unintended consequence of that was what she dreaded.

 At noon, Ani heard the bell. It was only rung when there was to be an execution. She rushed to the town square and saw her Zimra tied up and ready to be hung. She ran to Lord Stark and pleaded but to no avail, then she got an idea.

 She walked Lord Stark to a corner and offered him what he wanted – her body. Lord Stark smiled at her offer as he began undressing. After he had his way, Lord Stark ordered Zimra’s release and walked away a proud contented pot bellied man.

 After the incident, months passed, Zimra was still furious with her because of what she did even though it saved his life. One cool afternoon, Ani and her mistresses went for a stroll in the village. Ani saw Zimra and wanted to talk to him, but he walked passed her like he didn’t even see her.

Meanwhile, a small boy nearby was trying to control a particularly furious bull. The boy finally lost control and the bull headed straight for one of her mistresses, Lady Helen.

But before the bull could get to Lady Helen, Zimra and his strong arms caught up with it and wrestled it to the ground effortlessly. Lady Helen had already fainted. After putting the bull under control, Zimra went to Lady Helen’s side to help her. The whole sight tore at Ani’s heart. Not only was Zimra not speaking to her, he was holding her wicked mistress so tenderly who as expected over- exaggerated the situation.

Few weeks lady, Ani found out she was pregnant and she knew the father, Lord Stark. It was not enough that she had done what she had but know she had a constant reminder, she sobbed. Since the bull incident, Lady Helen has been having incessant nightmares. Lady Helen asked Ani to take her to her rescuer, she needed to thank him again. Ani took lady Helen to Zimra and she walked up to him. Fast they became friends. Zimra’s wit and charm captured Lady Helen.

The friendship metamorphosed and became intimate. Lady Helen was in love. Ani stood by and watched how her man was being taken away. She felt hurt, betrayed, used and pregnant. Quickly, Lady Helen planned to buy him off his owner to keep him for herself. She got his deeds transferred to bear her name as his owner. Zimra was happy and thankful because his life would never be the same, knowing that he was going to be treated better as her love interest than her slave. But deep down he knew he loved Ani and wanted to do right by her. He was torn between what he should do to be happy and what he should do for a better life. It wasn’t an easy decision but he took the pen from the resgistra deeped it in ink and signed for his partial freedom

The Chained Slave Of Kotanga Part 1 – Story

Once upon a time, in the distant land of Kotanga their was a girl name Ani. Kotanga was a village under the leadership of the white men while the owners of the village worked in farms, cleaned or washed for the white men.

 One day Ani, who worked as a maid for the white people, went out to fetch some fruits. As she carried the basket, Lord Stark, one of the very brutal lords, roughly brushed her aside as he passed her, making the fruits in her basket roll over.

 One of the fruits rolled over to one of the servant chained close to the wall. Before she could pick it up, he already had and then ever so gently handed it over to her. Their eyes locked for what felt like eternity and then Ani stood up, straightened her skirt and walked on her jelly legs away.

As Ani walked home, she fantasized about the chained slave. He was rugged and fine, the scars on his body made him look even more handsome. At that moment, she made up her mind, she would see him again.

Ani arrived home with her basket of fruits thinking it would make her mistress happy but once again she was reminded harshly that she was nothing but a slave.

  Ani saw how much food her mistress had, yet her people lived in hunger. The food was so much that she knew even if she stole alittle her mistress would not even know. So she did, hid them in her skirt and sneaked out of the house.

As She walked silently to the village square carrying her stolen goods, she couldn’t help but think of the chained slave again. She secretly hoped she would see him.

 As soon as she got there, she started sharing the food for the little children. Her heart was filled with joy as each child skidded away with an item. As she looked up, panic overwhelmed her, the chained slave, now unchained slave, walked towards her. Her heart was racing, she didn’t know what to say or do. She had longed for this moment but now the butterflies in her stomach were relentless.

They got talking. Ani found out that the chained slaves name was Zimra. He had been a warrior before the slave masters came. Added to his handsome features, Zimra was very funny and thoughtful, he didn’t seem as hard as she assumed but surprisingly gentle. They talked for long under the moon light.

The gentle croaking of frogs, the moon light cascading on their features, the cool breeze of the night and the gentle whisper of the wind all contributed to the lips locking of these love-struck slaves. 11. As Ani walked home, she remembered the events of the night and smiled with satisfaction as she felt a shadow behind her and quickened her step.

I immediately left for the snacks bar,and bought him a bottle of coca cola and meatpie,I wondered within myself “what are my coursemates going to think?that a girl like me could be subjected to such humiliation” I knew that this incidence was going to lower their respect for me. Femi started eating,and there was silence on our table I just sat there watching chuks and Femi,who were sitting opposite each other,

Femi was giving me a look that indicated his disappointment and this made me look away.on the other hand, Chuks had this soft look in his eyes, the kind of look that could comfort someone in distress. I looked towrds the area wher my coursemates sat, as soon as they say my eyes they all pretended to be doing somethign else,but I knew they were watching us.

Femi finished his meal and cleared his throat,he apologised to chuks and extended his hands for a handshake accompanied with a smile, chuks accepted his handshake and his apology.Femi got up from his seat,greeted Chuks and left without saying a word to me.
I tried to signal him to stop,but he didn’t respond. On a normal day I would run up to him and plead with him till he decides to change his mind,but this day was not a normal day,My coursemates were watching,they had already enjoyed the previous episode,I couldn’t afford to create another one.

 Few minutes after Femi left,chuks and I decided to go home and so did our course mates. Chuks and I walked ahead of them since we all decided to trek,I apologised to chuks and he said it was okay,that the person I really needed to apologise to was Femi, I knew this but I just couldn’t figure out a way to and this made me really moody,but before we got to the schOol gate,i was already cracked up with laughter from chuks and his funny jokes.one thing that amazed me was how my course mates kept shut about what they just watched,not even one of them asked what went wrong, I had a feeling they were going to ask Chuks later. We said goodbye and retired to our various destinations for the evening.

I couldn’t rest when I got home,I kept dialing his number though he cut my call whenever he saw it,I knew this because whenever I dialled his number it read”number busy”…I didn’t give up,I kept sending apology text messages for two days,I even sent some christian messages just to make him know I was sorry,all of these were to no avail. Within those two days,I visited his place up to 4 times, his roomate kept saying he was not around.

My sorryness was turned into anger,so he has decided to ignore me right? I’ve done worse things and it didn’t take him so much time to forgive me,since he has decided to ignore me,I’ll ignore him too,he would be the one to beg for my calls,my pride got the better of me and i resolved to ignore him and anything that has to do with him until he comes back begging(which he usally does),afterall,i had tried. Unfortunately,I didn’t know there was more to come… I thought I could carry on well without Femi, I forgot all we had been through in our first year in school,if not for his assistance I wouldn’t have paid my school fees on time ,I decided to forget all the good times we had, all the times he had been there for me(too many to count). I let my pride overrule my love for him, I kept saying to myself”afterall,I’m pretty and intelligent almost any guy I like would want to go out with me, who does Femi even think he is?” These thoughts greatly affected my actions,I decided to pay no more visits and ignore his call and instead spend more time with chuks at least that way I could overlook the feeling of loneliness I was experiencing. unfortunately, I couldn’t really stick to my decisions, in fact no day passed without me dialing his number,I kept thinking of him (dnt blame me,the guy was my FIRST love,wats a girl gonna do?)

After two weeks of no contact,I jumped to the conclusion that Femi and I were through,I had to deal with a strange feeling of heartbreak accompanied with depression. It took me about a month to get over Femi,,I couldn’t bear the thought that I had lost femi,at some point I got worried but my pride wouldn’t let me dial his number again, “two weeks is enough, he has to be the one to call first” I kept saying this to myself. One week later, my phone rang and although I deleted Femi’s phone number,I still knew his phone number in my head. As soon as I saw his number,I felt joy inside and hurriedly picked his call. “My superman(I usually called him that),I said with a playful voice…hey! what’s up he replied with a very formal voice. immediately he said this,I knew he wanted to say something serious. “There’s something I would like to tell you,he said with a more serious tone

The moment they say femi at our table,my course mates began to adjust their table,one of them even took off the head phone he was putting on,probably to hear the action. I could feel the scrutiny of 5 pairs eyes at me,I was fully clothed but I felt as Unclad as I was born. They all looked away when I turned towards them,those devils! I said to myself why did this have to happen here and now? This was a really awkward moment, Femi was normally a gentleman but with a bad temper when annoyed. Unlike him,he didn’t even accept the handshake which chuks extended his hands for, when I saw this I felt like running away from the table, I started wondering what to do,should I just put on an angry look on face and walk away?should I ask chuks to excuse us?that would be so unfair I thought, My thoughts were interrupted by Femi’s voice “so what are you doing here he asked” I was so scared of him because I know he could create a wild scene so I calmly said “nothing,I just came to eat something after my practical session”.

He looked at the two empty cans of sprite and then replied,really with a sarcastic look, he then asked”how long have you been here?” I decided to lie,and said not long just 30mins, Chuks glanced at me and threw his face . When I said this Femi was filled with rage and he said “so you’ve started lying right? I’ve been watching you for over 2hrs sitting here with this guy laughing stupidly” I could feel my body go tensed and sweaty… Femi’s eyes were filled with fury,so you kept me waiting for hours because of another guy,I was already filled with fear,I managed to stutter I’mmm sorry,I could feel the tears that were about to drop form my eyes,I was fighting to hold them back , Chuks noticed this and could not stand it so he decided to defend me. she told me she had a date,I pleaded with her to stay with me just a little longer,its not really her fault, Chuks told femi. Femi totally ignored him,he didn’t even act as if anybody just talked.

Out of anger Femi yelled “you are a big fool,so its because of this idiot you stood me up…after everything we’ve been through I dnt blame you at all” Chuks couldn’t take it any longer,he yelled back at him “what’s up with you?how can you talk to a lady like that?dnt you have manners,I dnt mind how you talk to me but you shouldn’t speak to her like that,afterall she’s apologised ,dnt talk to her like again,at least not in my presence… I just sat down pitying myself, imagining a lot of crazy things,what if they got into a fight?(Although its kinda cute when two guys fight over you,but not in this case),I knew that if such a thing happened,my course mates would not hesitate to record the video,another thought creeped in,what if Femi slapped me and beat me up I got really scared(because I know say I know kukuma get power)I was simply enveloped in shame,my course mates were probably enjoying this scene,I silently wished I could disappear at that moment. My emotional side got the better of me. I pleaded with femi to stop embarrassing me and to be considerate of the fact that my course mates were watching us. He told me to shut up which I quickly did. After a while,he took a deep breath,hissed at me and told me to get him something to it,I was both surprised and relieved ,at least he wouldn’t talk much while eating.

Meanwhile, Chuks was still angry and I also pleaded with him to calm down,he had no choice but to do so…finally! peace at last. Or so I thought

 They say each day comes with its blessings and I guess some also come with their curse…let me cuT to the chase here. It was just another afternoon on campus and we had just finished a hectic biology practical and some of my coursemates and I decided to just chill at a little and have some snacks and fizzy drinks.we were about 7:3guys and 4girls. Among the guys,was chuks: a really cute dude who had a serious crush on me,every1 in d department knew about his love for me, but since he had never said anything about it to me,I just decided to keep him as a friend.

Chuks suggested we sat at a separate area,he said he wanted to talk to me about somthing(I already knew what it was but I wanted to hear it from the horse’s mouth),so I said ok and immediately we left for anothe table, the rest of them were hailing chuks! chuks!their eyes followed us till we sat down,and I became so shy.finally chuks started talking…

So chuks started talking about his feelings for me,I had heard those lines before but there was something about how he said it…gosh! He was romantic,too bad I already had a boyfriend whom he had never met,his name was femi. I had told Femi about chuks and the gist in our department, femi had become jealous and I liked that(dnt judge me please) sometimes making a guy jealous increases his level of care and attention towards you,every girl like attention and I was no different.

Chuks had finished what I would call an excellent romantic episode and he asked me to be his girlfriend, I declined and told him I already had a boyfriend whose name was femi,it was then it occured to me that femi and I had agreed to see by 3pm,it was already 3:30. I jerked and told chuks I had to meet with femi,he wore a downcast look and pleaded with me to stay a while longer. Well I couldn’t really resist his babyface charm so I decided to stay for 15minutes more, after all,there would be plenty of time to spend with femi.

Chuks and I had talked for over 20mins,he was really funny and kinda shy when talking to me,the last time I met a guy like him was in secondary school.I was really enjoying myself and had forgotten my date with Femi, when I almost had a heart attack. UHMMMMMM i Can never forget it It on a bright sunday me and my goon we are for in number i wont name dem here but you will know there name as time goea by we were in our compund debating on were to go and spend our weekend all my friend started saying all sort of place name like shoprite,elegushi,quilox,spar,hotel, etc but have always see a film advert on tv i just told dem my goons say make dem let us enter silverbird say me never reach there before oooo nah so dem my friend accopt me say no lele nah i check time we still dey 8.30 am nah so we go play back first as it reach 9:00am nah so every body go im papa house go change clothe after like 30 min gather back together they debate how we go take go about it episode 2

As we enter road na so we see one cab dey come, nah so we stop the cab man Cab man: heyo biggie boiss how u nah day were u nah dey go ern

Guy 2: erm baba we dey go silverbird Cab man: silverbird he no far nah nah money gan gan

Episode 3 As we enter the cab na so the driver just they playe OLAMIDE OMO ABULESOWO On im ac naso i enter dream land i just they dream they see my self for usa sey i dey play with nicki minaj as i wan kiss her naso i hear better slap chai as i open my eye nah so all my friend start to the laugh me i just vex they para for them…..

Me: guy you be enemy of progress ooo
 Guy 2: weting happen
Me: as i wan kiss nicki minaj na so you go dash me slap ( all laughing except the driver) (na so i just they observe were we dey i look left i look right we dey ontop bridge water ther every where naso i start to they cry As i they cry na so the driver ask say weting happen na so i continu to dey cry ooooo
Me: guy you nah wicked ooo you wan go kill me trow me inside water (continue crying) (all my friend continue laughing)
Guy 1 my guy u mumu why we go go kill you when you no offemd us

 Guy 2: baba no mind am jare him be jjc nah y ( we all burst laughing) The journey went smothly while we are chatting and laughing until our car broke down on the bridge chai wich kind wahala be dis nah nah so the driver come down check the car the car no move na so my frend say make we go out go help im push the car nah so i talk say i no dey go down because i they fear die.. Them my friend go down push the car until it start.. They enter the car and we enter road again.

As we enter road na so me and my niggar we start to they gist about so many things. Until we come down for third mainland bridge. After like 45 mins drive we reach the front of silverbird i was like waw so this place fine like this na so my friend start to they tease me they call me jjc na so me too start to they formm. we pay the driver him money.. We enter the gate come stay for one side they talk because the film wey we wan go watch go start by 4pm and nah 2:30pm we still dey naso some babe wey reseemble mammi water just pass by our side dem be 4 in number naso my friend start to the look like dummy

 Me: guy y u open mouth dey look like dis nah
 Guy 3: omo dis babe nah better maami water
Me; and u go dey do like person wey no something
Guy 1: omo i must carry one for dis girl go house today (na so we start to they laugh.. as i go look up na so me and one of the girl eye jam each oda i just dey look like dummy i no no weting i go talk.. I just do my package tell my friend say make we go grab somethong chop As we reach where we go buy popcorn and drink na so dis babe come there oo me and my friend come they wonder say weting appen I just go meet dem

The Intermission Part 3 - Story

As from that day, Frank kept his distance from Favour;
he will walk into the class without looking in her
direction. Favour in the other hand always tries to get his
attention but Frank will have none of that. Things were
starting to settle down a beat, he always study his book
and didn’t play around. Soon, he began to make friend
with two boys named; Collins and Mike.
Collins was the last born of a family of six, three girls
and three boys. He is of average height, dark in
complexion and was pampered by every member of their
family. To say that he was very rude will be an
understatement; he will pick a quarrel at any little
misunderstanding. He will any extra mile to make sure he
get any girl he crushes, ranging from seeking help from
his elder brother which they will gladly do to using of
jaas to get their attention.

Mike on the other hand was from a family of three wives.
He was the first son of his mother who was the last wife.
He was a bit short, fair in complexion and also loves girls
with passion. He was very temperamental and go any
lengths to get whatsoever he want including stealing.
What baffles me was why Frank has decided to make
friend with such guys when they are a lot of good guys in
our class. Well that question answered itself before i could
ask him.

It was sunny Monday morning, the sun was setting, some
people was preparing for lesson after morning devotion,
somewhere preparing for what they called the best thing
that will happen to them while somewhere in deep
thinking of what will become their fate because they found
themselves in one problem or the other with the staffs and
some with the principal.
If you guilty of anything and was reported to the
principal, just prepare for a whole day punishment, week
punishment or even suspension depending on your offence.
Well, i have gat no problem so i was preparing for my
lessons for the day.

Time passed but no sight of Frank and his new his goons
in the class. Well, i don’t care anymore, all that matters
for me then was myself and nothing more. It was after
our first lesson that i noticed that Favour was not in the
class also. Well, for sometime before long break, Frank,
his goons and Favour walked into the class
Me: guy watsupp? Where have you been all these hours?
Frank: no be small thing ooo
Me: and what is not small thing
Frank: i decided to hide it from you because you will try
to discourage me
Me: and what are you talking about?
Frank: i got Favours 2go username from Mike, i sent her
friend request and she accepted and we got chatting
though i didn’t do anything because i was scared. So i
asked her for her phone number but she declined. So when
Mike visited me last Friday evening, i asked him if he will
be able to get me her phone number and he told me that
he already have it. As a result, i collected the number
from him and called her immediately, fortunately, she
answered and we got talking.

Letter yesterday (Sunday), i typed a message for her but
couldn’t gather the courage to send it. So when Collins
and Mike came they saw it but before i could protest, the
message has been sent by Collins. But unfortunately, the
phone was with her mother when the message was
delivered and she saved my number with my name.

Me: haahahaha….you put yourself into an ovule
Frank: but that is now past tense
Me: and what did her mother do?
Frank: her mother came to school with her first son and
reports us to the discipline master
Me: and then?
Frank: the discipline master asked me if i was responsible
for sending the text message which i obliged. He stressed
that he has nothing to say since the girl’s mother was
present, she should decide
Me: what did the woman said?
Frank: she said that she can send us to the police if not
the fact that my father was her headmaster. She said that
if i want marry her, i should wait till when both of us
( Frank and Favour) are ready because if we go into any
relationship, it might lead to pre-marital s-x which may
inturn lead to unwanted pregnancy thereby bringing shame
to both family both mostly obstructing Favour future.
She also said that anytime i am grown enough to marry
and still want to marry her, that i should come and if she
is still available and willing to marry me, she will gladly
bless us
Me: so you are now a married man to be?
Frank: she should have make it official
Me: as how?
Frank: formal betrothal
Me: idiot, you are not grateful that your a-s is not on fire
Frank: but i truly love her
Me: do you understand anything about true love?
Frank: well i do know to my own understanding
